Will Sharron Angle follow through with her "coded" threat to assassinate Harry Reid, if she didn't win the election?

Type Your Article Here ... When Sharron Angle said after she won the nomination to the Tea Party / Republican Party ticket, that if she didn't win, they may have to resort to 2nd Amendment Rights, if the elections didn't go her way. The 2nd Amendment obviously refers to the right to bear arms (pistils, rifles, etc.), which is easily translated, by her reference, into a violent overthrow of the Government. I do own two pistols and several rifles, so I'm not some liberal Democrat who wants to take away all of our guns. As a matter of fact I have a concealed carry permit and think my permit should be valid in all 50 states, but it's not. But back to my original thought, if Harry Reid somehow dies through an act of violence, the police should look at Sharron Angle, or one of her supporters. Even if it was one of her supporter that were convicted, in her sick mind she would have no remorse or feel that she was any way responsible.

It was a sad day for Democratic people, although I'm glad to see some of the "Blue Dog Democrats" gone. If Republicans had elected Sharron Angle or Christine O'Donnell, it would have been an even sadder day for their party.

You know you can delete the part that says "type article here" if you want to...you did know that didn't you?

Luke, no I didn't and thanks for the tip. I'm rather new and still trying to figure how things work. I actually figured out how to seed articles, and have probably made mistakes in those also.

Hey man we all make mistakes...good to have you on Newsvine. It looks like we disagree politically speaking, but that doesn't mean we have to hate each other, right?

Luke, I have a question, when I joined the Newsvine from a link off of The Rachel Maddow Blog, I thought 99% of the people would be Democratic. Although it appears the majority are Democratic, I was surprised to see how many Republicans / Conservatives post comments. I would think you would enjoy talking to like minded people, rather than people that disagree with your positions. You sound like a very respectful person, whats the point of debating people, who's minds you probably will never change?

Funny thing is Allen Coat, a few months ago there were hundreds more conservative's on Newsvine that either got tired of talking politics or got banned because they had differering views than a lot of the people on here. I like to talk to people from all different walks of life. I also love a good argument! I get on Newsvine mostly at work when we are slow to kill time. You'd be surprised how quick you can kill off an afternoon arguing politics on Newsvine. As for the "never changing someone's mind" thing I just have to look at myself. I have learned a LOT from being on Newsvine and hearing all sides of an argument. I have changed my mind on at least two major issues as a direct consequence of what I have learned listening to other ideas on here. I would just say that you never know who your comments are reaching and what effect the are really having. Just be yourself and make your points. You may not learn anything on here...or it could change you life! ( ;

Thanks Luke, I will try to keep a more open opinion, but at 60 years old I'm fairly set in my ways. But I'm usually on the fence post on many issues, but there are some set in stone.

Allen--I do give you kudos for the "would Angle be responsible" vein. I do, however, disagree with the sad day for democrats angle.

After last nights elections (I am from MICHIGAN and it went completely RED), I am curious to see what exactly the REP/TPs are going to do now. There is the Deficit ceiling to be voted upon, or else shut down the PLANET's economy. There is the Health Care complete repeal being talked about, (just wait till that affects the Medicare/Medicaid). There is the total BUSH tax cut extension that has 700 Billions dollars in unpaid for tax cuts for the top 2%. There is the de-regulation of Wall St Reform talk. (Yep--lets go there again.)

I am waiting for my sons to get those jobs now!!! I am looking to see my 401K go back up. And I have not even touched upon Education and Immigration.

So--even with the HOUSE majority now in the REP hands, I see a very unstable future. I wonder if the American people will allow more than 18 months for this NEW mandate to work or if it was just two more years of REPs giving in to corporations again.

This whole system sucks!!! It seems as though we are in perpetual campaign mode and nothing is done for the country any more.

BethanyB, I also live in Michigan and watched the state fall apart under John Engler, then the Democrats tried to no avail to fix what he did. It's the same thing with President Obama, he is getting the blame for not fixing all the problems President Bush created in 8 years, in his first two years as President. I hope Michigan turns around, but I doubt it under Republican control, I guess it's our turn to poke the Republicans for not fixing all that ails us.

Is anybody really stupid enough to believe "coded threat to assassinate Harry Reid"? How about a real article. Bearing false witness is not journalistic and ethically wrong it even breaks one of the Ten Commandments.

Well if one of her crazy followers attempt it, will she own up to the fact she encouraged it? Besides everyone brakes at least one of the Ten Commandments every day.

The more meaningful question to ask is "does anybody not get what she meant"?

Don't wait too long fro an answer as Tex will probably be a no show.

Standard issue Tea Party rhetoric voiced by many including Rand Paul. It means a government that is on a Marxist path to collapse and destroy the country has a Constitutional right to be replaced by any reasonable means necessary. Read your Constitution.

So...Obama saying he was "keeping the heel of his boot on BP's neck"...or Obama saying that "if they bring out a knife, you bring out a gun" to the SEIU members was just harmless fun?

Luke, the President was speaking metaphorically, I'm not sure that Sharron Angle was with her remarks.

But the purpose of the liberal media is to take minor metaphors and amplify them in to broad attacks. For example one SEUI member shows up with a racist sign and all members at a Tea Party rally are racist. Or a full time paid Moveon.org staff member creates a scene in front of a camera at a Rand Paul rally? If all Tea Party members are racists then why is Media Matters all white? Does Soros actually do anything for minority's?

Texas, she was asked numerous times to clarify what she meant by people using their 2nd Amendment Rights, but instead of answering the question she ran away to her waiting car. By not explaining her comments, it leaves us to speculate what she actually meant. To me, she wanted people to take up arms against our Government if the election didn't go her way. To you, it probably meant something entirely different, so it would have helped both of us if she would have just answered the question by what she meant by the statement.

The media was not Sharon Angles friend but a sworn enemy out to destroy her. The media in our minds is an objective source of information but in this case they are not. She was just accepting that sad fact.

But she was on Fox News with Sean Hannity, she could have answered the question, but unfortunately he only gave her softball questions with no push back. When any candidate won't go on Meet the Press, Face the Nation, or The Week With Christiane Amanpour, they have weak positons they can't defend. Every major serious politician have been on at least one of these shows to explain and defend their positions, only the ones that aren't smart enough to hold their own, avoid the three shows.

The "media" wasn't out to destroy Sharon Angle, all they ever had to do was put a microphone in front of her and let her speak. She was her own worst enemy & destroyed herself (no help needed).

You don't think this Country doesn't have any far right militia groups that hate the Federal Government? Maybe all they need is a suggestion from Sharron Angle to justify some violent action against our Country.

Sure we make Conservatives angry, as they make Liberals angry, but Liberals don't have armed groups dedicated to destroying the Federal Government. And don't bring up that lame story about the Black Panther Movement, it was just aimed to scare white people.

Obviously all that rhetoric wasn't a concern of the voters, so maybe you should find something else to zero in on that will get their attention.

Above all else, respect others. Address issues and arguments and refrain from making personal attacks. If you see something disrespectful or inappropriate, report it - rather than further inflaming the situation.

Bad Fish, are you saying you don't vote, or that you belong to a different political party? Yes, this was an unusual election with the House going Republican and the Senate staying Democratic, I believe this hasn't happened in a very long time.
