It's nice to see a main stream news host tell the truth about Donald Trump. Trumps racism first appeared when he joined the birthers, and now questioning President Obama college education. Especially the part that he didn't believe President Obama was worthy to go the prestigious ivy league schools.

Still wondering why "Massa Donald's" "boots on the ground" in Hawaii didn't turn up with the COLB first. Thinking all they came back with was a mai tai hangover and a new grass skirt for Trump's head.
- 48 votes
Yep...the Self Proclaimed Emporer Trump has no clothes.
Mr. Trump is no Patriot.
Bravo to Mr. Schieffer for calling Trump out on his true motivation.
For all those who were not satisfied with the short form, or Hawaii's Governor's confirmation, or Snopes, or Urban Legend, or Fact Check...it BOILS me when you whine that the President should have satisfied your paranoia/ racism/ political agenda earlier.
There are HUNDREDS of stupid, ridiculous, insane accusations and crazy blogs, tweets, twitters...all claiming something horrific about President Obama.
In the past few weeks, Newsvine Seeds have been peppered with the Orly Taitz crowd who rely on slander as gossip.
This media guy got it right....and it is further evidence of how the public has allowed the dumbing of America.
Reality Shows feature aggression and disregard for common courtesy, but they are perceived as normal behavior.
Continue with this conspiracy dumbness crazy stuff as an obsession...and watch other Countries surpass us in Math in Science.
Birthers used this as an excuse to become ugly Americans and hijack elected officials who pander to these idiots.
UGH....Mr. Trump questioning the President's Magna Cum Laude degree ....and having a minion of followers....it's getting more pathetic by the minute.

Obama is the negro boy driving a car with a white girl (the U.S.) in the passenger's seat, the cops want to see his papers.
It's 50 years ago today, in the U.S.
It's 80 years ago today, in Germany.
It's an embarrassment.
- 57 votes
Trump is not alone.
Why are racists afraid to say they hate blacks or Muslims or whoever? They push the envelope to cause problems for, belittle and demonize those they hate yet say they are not racist.
Racists are either afraid, embarrassed or ashamed to openly admit they hate other races. If you cannot just come out and say that you hate others - just shut up. Why must you hide your real feelings if you are so adamant about them. Is there a yellow streak down their back?
Aren't racists a bunch of bullies and chickens at the same time?
- 34 votes
Thanks Bob for telling it like it is. Bob Schieffer is one of the last of a breed of journalists with impeccable integrity.
- 19 votes
John, thanks for your comment, and yes Bob is dying breed, who believe facts mean more than supporting a political position.
- 15 votes
Fel, I guess that depends on the race of the "someone" or could it possibly be a conclusion reached by observation?
- 16 votes
So when someone said Bush didn't have the grades to be in an ivy league school that was racism?
No, that was classism. They didn't say he got into college based on race, but based on his family connections.
- 28 votes
It's long past time someone had the nerve to stand up to this racist school yard bully...
I want to see trump's school and college records...if any exist!
- 19 votes
So when someone said Bush didn't have the grades to be in an ivy league school that was racism?
No. That was what is sometimes referred to as THE TRUTH.
We've seen his transcripts, remember? (C- student).
But I guess if your family is loaded and connected, you can go to an ivy league school on a pass-fail basis...
- 24 votes
smellit - Please crawl back under your rock. You've NEVER had anything of substance to add to ANY post...EVER!
- 24 votes
Fel, I'm glad to see that you agree with me that questioning Obama's transcript is based in racism.
- 15 votes
It's nice to know where to look for the bigoted nuts and morons, the GOP.
- 18 votes
I'm sure that not all Birthers are racist; there are some who are worse. They know that this is a bogus issue and stir it up for partisan political advantage just because they know they can manipulate some people with misinformation..
- 12 votes
So when someone said Bush didn't have the grades to be in an ivy league school that was racism?
No, it is probably the truth. Bush II was a legacy admission ay Yale, didn't get into Harvard Law becasue of his Yale grades (BTW, isn't that the law school Obama went to where he was the Editor of the Law Review). Bush II may have gotten in Harvard B School on his grades, but then Bush II hasn't released his Yale transcript - yet!
- 15 votes
Well sadly enough in this case Schieffer IS the racist. Trump spoke the truth because even Obama himself said he did benefit from Affirmative Action.
I'd also like to add one personal note, in response to the letter from Mr. Jim Chen which was published in the October 26 issue of the RECORD, and which articulated broad objections to the Review's general affirmative action policy. I respect Mr. Chen's personal concern over the possible stigmatizing effects of affirmative action, and do not question the depth or sincerity of his feelings. I must say, however, that as someone who has undoubtedly benefited from affirmative action programs during my academic career, and as someone who may have benefited from the Law Review's affirmative action policy when I was selected to join the Review last year, I have not personally felt stigmatized either within the broader law school community or as a staff member of the Review. Indeed, my election last year as President of the Review would seem to indicate that at least among Review staff, and hopefully for the majority of professors at Harvard, affirmative action in no way tarnishes the accomplishments of those who are members of historically underrepresented groups.
http://www.hlrecord.org/2.4475/record-retrospective-obama-on-affirmative-action-1.577511?pagereq=1
SO If Schieffer wants to call Trump a racist for saying that about Obama, he needs to call Obama a racist too.
- 6 votes
So when someone said Bush didn't have the grades to be in an ivy league school that was racism?
LOL
That was perfect Felicity. Theyve sooo worn out the race card. Bob needs to go the way of Dan.
- 3 votes
Even the blind and deaf can see and hear the racism in Trumps folly.
- 8 votes
^ No its just assumptions based on zero proof or facts that everyone is calling him a "racist". You know what they say about assumptions. Until someone can actually prove he is racist by showing me where he has said racist comments or whatever... calling him one is disingenuous and wrong. Basically slander too.
- 5 votes
Said Schieffer: "That's just code for saying he got into law school because he's black. "
So true and sad.... sigh
- 11 votes
I don't understand - While it's true, Trump is quite the (insert negative here)...
I just don't understand how asking an elected official to clear up any possible doubts about his/her qualifications to hold office... equates to the belief that one race is genetically superior to another ... Sorry, I just can't make the connection.

For anyone that's interested, here is a very powerful commentary by a black man on the whole Trump racist stuff...
When a jackass like Donald Trump claims credit for forcing the President of the United States to prove that he is an American, we should all be ashamed of our democracy. And no one gave a more poignant voice to that pain and rage than Baratunde Thurston. Watch it and weep. And then, can we once and for all kill the myth that we live in a “post-racial” society?
Baratunde Thurston on Obama Birther Controversey: "We Have All Been Debased"
- 11 votes
Trump is no racist, he is much more dangerous. He is a sociopath with an extreme streak of narcissism - basically a border line serial killer. Does anybody want as president somebody who is the embodiment of Greg Stillson from The Dead Zone.
- 4 votes
Said Schieffer: "That's just code for saying he got into law school because he's black. "
Code. Whatever. LOL. That's just a fancy way of saying... We can't prove its racism and we don't know for sure if it is...so were just going to ASSUME it and say it is without any proof whatsoever and where going to call it talking in code to somehow legitimize our assumptions based on nothing. How stupid.
For anyone that's interested, here is a very powerful commentary by a black man on the whole Trump racist stuff...
I've seen his videos before, but this one on the birther stuff and Obama and him getting all "emotional over it" is ridiculous. Also the fact he thinks Malcom X was an "exceptional American" raises some serious red flags for me. Malcom X was a full blown racist and radical. He wanted the separation of whites and blacks among all kinds of other crazy stuff. That fact he thinks that guy is such an "exceptional American" is @!$%#ing mind boggling. He is showing is true colors with thoughts like that.
- 2 votes
You have proof to back up he is right? Provide facts and examples of how Trump has said anything or done anything racist? Not just assumptions. Thanks in advance.

LMAO @ simplistic,Just because donny doesn't have a clue what 'cum laude' means,it doesn't give him any Right whatsoever to deny that TRUTH!Apparently, the conspiracy theory says that his teachers were in on it also?Man,what an elaborate plan.Do you guys really believe this s**t?!?How can you even justify your thought process?
- 7 votes
Ironic you should mention Malcolm X, Simplistic.
It's EVEN more boggling that you think a man cannot change his views. Very few people have that oportunity; Malcolm being one of them; especially AFTER he came back from Mecca and saw the same "White, Blond-Haired, Blue-Eyed Devils" praying and worshipping to the same Allah that he prayed to.
He ALSO had this to say:
"Listening to leaders like Nasser, Ben Bella, and Nkrumah awakened me to the dangers of racism. I realized racism isn't just a black and white problem. It's brought bloodbaths to about every nation on earth at one time or another.
Brother, remember the time that white college girl came into the restaurant—the one who wanted to help the Black Muslims and the whites get together—and I told her there wasn't a ghost of a chance and she went away crying? Well, I've lived to regret that incident. In many parts of the African continent I saw white students helping black people. Something like this kills a lot of argument. I did many things as a Black Muslim that I'm sorry for now. I was a zombie then—like all Black Muslims—I was hypnotized, pointed in a certain direction and told to march. Well, I guess a man's entitled to make a fool of himself if he's ready to pay the cost. It cost me 12 years.
That was a bad scene, brother. The sickness and madness of those days—I'm glad to be free of them."

BOB - Thank You and God Bless You! You Make Me PROUD Today to Be a TEXAN! You are the FIRST, But Hopefully NOT the LAST, to Call Out this Sick "Birtherism" for Exactly WHAT it has ALWAYS BEEN: RACISM. Pure and Simple!
- 24 votes
wbbtexas, thanks for your comment and yes it is refreshing for a change. I watch Face the Nation almost every Sunday and his ending comments are usually very honest.
- 13 votes
Mainstream media should be doing this more often. Ask the hard questions and don't give Trump a platform to spew his hate.
Shame on NBC for not doing more to take that platform away. And make money whilst he is doing this stuff.
- 13 votes
Sassy, thanks for your comment and it is sad that the main stream media lets people like Trump get away with his comments, without any push back.

I, for one, have called birtherism racist from day one. I couldn't understand why the media didn't do the same immediately. I think Chris Matthews was the first to do so.

#2.4:I, for one, have called birtherism racist from day one. I couldn't understand why the media didn't do the same immediately. I think Chris Matthews was the first to do so.
I remember how I was suspended for using the term "racist" about 2 years ago here on NV!
My, my how things have changed! I knew it then and called it for what it is, and still do. I was a bit ahead of the curve on this - and immodestly say that I usually am especially when it comes to race and intolerance; it is not heard to see it and I will call a spade a spade no matter how much it "hurts" the offenders. Good.
These racists still like to play the "cutesy game" and say that we are using the "race card" as a projection for what they really feel about "others" who do not look or act like them- and as way to hide behind their narrow-minded and ignorant philosophy that exudes racism.
Play it off, yes that's the trick for losers!
And don't give me the "some of my friends are black"; they might have some black/other cultures as "associates/fellow workers/or even peers, but I guarantee it is not at the DINNER TABLE, or anywhere else that these racists might be seen with those "friends"!
I got so sick of "donald duck" on yesterday that I turned the entire media off. I had stopped watching donand duck's television show last year and asked my friends to do the same!
This egomaniac, donald duck, is sickening and I can't wait for any show/venture that he is sponsoring to fail miserably and disappear from the horizon for good.

MEG, Carloz had me deleted only yesterday for a one-word post using only that word. I convinced him that I was (truly) not directing it at a poster so he reinstated the comment. I was surprised today to see how freely the word is being used. But what other conclusion can anyone draw? Anything else fails the sniff test.
- 10 votes
I too have been suspended for caalling someone, directly, a racist. Won't do that anymore, and besides, any post where I would have considered calling someone a racist would have been a redundant post.

You note my comment when I say "my, my how things have changed"! We all must remember that the big business megalomaniacs are in charge of the program (s)- they are for the most part repugs!
I feel historically, as shown by their PROVEN acts and attitude, that repugs are more racist than Democrats - on the whole.
I am saying this knowing that "Big Brother" is watching and looking, but they don't want to look bad either - all the time!
Until they are willing and able to accept the responsibility for condoning this racist behavior, the powers that be are just as guilty as if they had said the word/label themselves.
Michael in SJ, when I read your post earlier, I knew exactly what you were saying.
sms, Carloz is usually a neutral minded individual, who is willing to give a commenter the benefit of the doubt. I am not surprised that he restored the comment, but we must remember that sometimes we can not have the final word- even when we want to! Read between the lines.

#2.8:I am ready to cancel my account....wonder if I'll just do that or go out in a blaze of...well..ugly... lol
Hi Maggie, are you considering canceling your NV account? Don't do that; we have to fight these evildoers and thinkers, and the only way to do that is to STAY and fight! If everybody leaves, THEY win and I don't want that to happen. It gets to you sometimes, I know. It gets to me too.
Can you imagine how the President feels - slurs and lies thrown at him each and every moment he breathes? And the only thing he is trying to do is to HELP PEOPLE!
He has great determination, nerves of steel, full confidence and competence, in addition to a belief in himself that make others green with envy and jealousy. His 2nd book is so profound and aptly named: the Audacity of Hope!
How dare he dream and hope? I spun in his glory!

I too have been suspended for caalling someone, directly, a racist.
Welcome to my club - I got suspended for calling Senator DeMint a racist.
America likes to wallow in its own excrement rather than confronting bull@!$%# ideas and progressing as a society. It will never be free of racism until whites make up 25% of the population and their noise is finally drowned out. I say that as a 40 year old white male - who also has a biracial daughter for whom I will gladly kill the first person who calls her a @!$%#, regardless of age, sex, or race. I am so sick of this endless crap because a few idiots among us can't grow the @!$%# up and get over the FACT that people are all different.
If NBC renews Trump's TV show, I'm boycotting it and all its advertisers.
I was surprised today to see how freely the word is being used.
I only use the word for people who deserve the word. Having people forcing our first African-American President go dig up the original birth certificate because they can't get over the legal one that Hawaii issued - that there must be something Obama was hiding...I'm sorry, but birthers are racist. It has nothing to do with Obama's policy or job performance.
Maybe if we all got together and demanded that GOP nominees have to produce a psychological evaluation proving that they aren't incestuous pedophiles before they are "eligible" to be president...

Also, if I need any help with ANYTHING, it certainly won't be from you. You don't appear to be someone I would seek any assistance from -or could help me with anything.

The problem with Obama re the TEApublicans is that he can never prove that he is white.
- 21 votes
Brian, thanks for the comment, and yes all you have to do is look at one of their rallies, and all you see is white.
- 12 votes
The problem with Obama re the TEApublicans is that he can never prove that he is white.
From their sterotypical born perception of what defines "Black" as in "person" I think they are more perplexed that they are unable to prove that he's Black either, at least by their definition.

- 4 votes
Stacey you are correct, I should not have said all white. The Tea Party does have a few African Americans show up at their rallies, but are they paid to be there, who knows? Either way, I would guess most of the rallies are 95% white or more.
- 11 votes
Trump is a racist idiot.
Trump - show us your cooked financial statements and how you screwed your investors.
- 12 votes
. The Tea Party does have a few African Americans show up at their rallies, but are they paid to be there, who knows?
Yes they are paid to be there, not to participate, but to clean up after the rally. They make extra if they walk in front of the cameras and hold signs that must have words that are misspelled. their pay can be more increased if they talk into the camera's , and tripled if they so happened to have bad teeth.
- 7 votes
It's hard to say whether Trump is a racist or just pandering to racists, and I'm not sure which is worse.
- 2 votes
. The Tea Party does have a few African Americans show up at their rallies, but are they paid to be there, who knows?
That's complete bull@!$%# and frankly racist in itself.. I know quite a few African American's who are conservative and show up at Tea Party rallies and do speeches and very active.. and are not racist... nor paid to be there. It's sad though that they become demonized by the Left as "paid plants" or "Uncle Tom's", etc, etc. In fact.. one used to be a former Vine member along with her husband who recently ran for Congress in my state of Washington.
Oh and before anyone jumps the gun and tries to claim I'm talking out of my ass.. I'll provide you with a video of a speech she did at the Tea Party rally in Seattle not long ago. She address's in the speech that very thing. I would invite you to watch it and then give me your opinion of it. She used to on here under the Vine handle "ARightBlackVoice" and her husband as "TheCapitalist".

Perfectly and accurately assessed, Mr. Schieffer. Now let's hope he doesn't have to do something ridiculous like "apologize" for his words, when The Donald starts screaming that he's not a racist and you know the rest.
- 13 votes
I think Bob has been in the game long enough that he won't have to apologize. I watch Face the Nation almost every Sunday so I'll find out soon enough. If he worked for Fox News, then I know he would be on his knees apologizing.
- 13 votes
Schieffer is exactly right and put this in a very direct, accurate, and tactful way. Great job!
Trump is playing on fear, racism, and his own self promotion to get more than his fair share of "15 minutes" of fame.
Minorities have to be qualified or over qualified to get into any Ivy League school. Even with a quota system the Ivy League schools don't just let anybody in, they have to qualify, period.
After whites have said repeatedly they want minorities to work hard, study, and achieve to be accepted, they still don't seem to accept it even if minorities follow all the rules.
Obama followed the rules, worked hard, studied and achieved but it still demeaned by people like Trump.
Lets see Trump's birth certificate, lets see all Trumps bankruptcies, lets see Trumps Ivy League degree, who does he think he is?

While I'm no fan of Trump and don't agree with what he says. In my opinion, Schieffer is going to get the boot for this comment. This type of comment is that of a second rate blogger, blowhard Hollywood type, or even a cable news person, not that of someone that represents CBS News.
- 2 votes
Ryan, you just gave evidence to my point made in #5. Although it would be beyond the pale ridiculous, in these times of 24/7 news chatter, you may just be correct.
Scheiffer is so old school (and good) that any kowtowing to Trump demanded by CBS will send him to his summer home for good. He won't take an ounce of management's @!$%#.

Call me slow, but I've tried to ignore the racism issue of this birther business (of course now the Harvard mess too). Now that I think about it, maybe Schieffer and all those who called the birthers 'racists' are correct.
I was watching Anderson Cooper last night about Obama's "long form" and Peter King said that it was primarily a "small slice of the pie" that hated Obama being President because he was black. I sat back and wondered about what King said. This may have started out as a small group of bigots, but the GOTP have allowed those devils to press the issue for so long that someone posted a poll earlier this week that 49% of Republicans do not believe that Obama was born in the US (this was before the long form was released). To me this speaks less about Obama and more about Republicans.
If they're not a bunch of racists, why didn't they ignore the bigots who've been screaming for the past two/three years? (they tell us to ignore Palin and the WBC, but can't take their own advice).
If they're not a bunch of racists, why did they allow themselves to be influenced by those same bigots for so long that they've begun to believe the hatemongers and ignore the very Constitution they claim to love so much?
During Jim Crow segregation, election rules were changed in southern states to keep blacks from voting. The same thing is occuring today. Why hasn't John McCain been pressed to show some 'long form' birth certificate? He was born in the Panama Canal (which is a US territory, I believe partially shared with Panama). If I'm correct, you have to be a citizen of the US be be a Senator as well. And why was 2008 the first anyone's ever had to deal with this issue? Has McCain had to deal with this citizenship issue during every run he's made for the Presidency (since 2008 is not the first time he's ran for the position)?
Suddenly a black man runs for President and the rules change (just like with Jews during Nazi Germany and with blacks during Reconstruction).
Hitler didn't make Germany racist, he just tapped into what many Germans at that time belived. The KKK didn't make the South racist, they just tapped into what many Southerners at that time believed.
The Republicans keep repeating racist history, then get all pissy when someone calls them racists.
Of course, now that Schieffer called Trump a racist watch for the token black guy to show up defending him.
- 11 votes
Joe,
Your side has been doing the race baiting for the last two years. As for 'token black guy', that just comes from recent history.
In the 90s, after the Oklahoma City bombing, people began to see militia groups as racist. What do they do, they bring out the black guy and put him on the news.
Last year, everybody saw the Tea Party as racist. What do they do, they bring out the black guy and put him on the news.
A couple of years ago, folks were upset at the fact that so much news was given to missing young white women and not to people of color (although they didn't mention missing white men, to be fair). What does the media do, they put out a series of news stories about missing black people.
The "Token black guy" move is typically done by conservatives to prove to the world that they're not racist. Instead of simply apologizing for creating a racist impression and changing behavior, they play the token black guy card to shut everybody up for a while, then it's business as usual.

Charles, and where racism doesn't exist [ is that possible to you] you just throw it out there anyway. Your use of the word token is a prime example. God forbid a black disagrees with the lib agenda. Who made up..Uncle Tom,Token,Oreo etc.......the Libs.
- 1 vote
The election of Barak Obama should have put to rest the allegations that we are a racist country. Those who continually bring up race (in regards to criticism of Obama) on the Left or no different than those who bring up this "birther" nonsense on the Right.
- 2 votes
Yes, we have a multi-racial President, but too many people still hold that against him.
There is definitely a component of racism in the animosity. You hear it all of the time, but it usually isn't blatant. Obama's presidency is referred to as a social experiment, as though there is something inherent in his race that makes it uncertain as to whether he can succeed. He is condemned for being arrogant (code for uppity), simply for having the confidence to stand up for his convictions.
Fear-mongers such as Limbaugh attempt to imply that, as a person of mixed race, Obama is incapable of being objective in his analyses of social issues.
People make an issue of his cabinet appointments if he selects a minority, but no mention of race seems relevant if a white person is appointed. Of course, we all heard what happened during the Sotomayor hearings.
In the minds of many right wingers, Michelle and Barack Obama, Sonya Sotomayor, and just about every other left-of-center minority must have attained their academic and professional successes by means of handouts and special favors, because it certainly could not have been the result of hard work andinnate intelligence.
If ethnic minorities are attaining some aspect of the American Dream, then some white guy is no doubt suffering as a result. So it's "us against them". We know what we have to do!
Of course, if you are a right wing minority, then we will tolerate your presence in the club ... so long as you follow the party line.
In addition, there are a handful of unscrupulous politicians and pundits who, although not necessarily racists themselves, have no problem capitalizing on the bigotry of others by fueling their fear and hatred of Obama in order to score political points or further a personal agenda.
Of course, most of those who have issues with Obama's heritage are too cowardly to openly state their bigotry, so they disguise it by using other loaded labels such as elitist (code for "he doesn't know his place"), undeserving of a Harvard education, oreign-born, Marxist, socialist, fascist, terrorist-sympathizer, Muslim, … anti-Christ -- all of which are designed to convey the notion that Obama was not legitimately elected POTUS and that he is inherently different than the rest of us and therefore cannot be trusted.

Come on Bob, Trump himself said that he has a great relationship with "the blacks"
- 5 votes
John, thanks for your comment, but just because Trump said that, doesn't mean he really does.
- 6 votes
Sorry Allen I was being sarcastic, he kept referring to AA as the blacks and Colbert had a great piece on that.
- 7 votes
but just because Trump said that, doesn't mean he really does.
Sure it does. Just ask him.
Some of his best... fr... um... servants are blacks.

Well I call Scheiffer a has been partisan political hack acting as a journalist.

"That should be the final word for this seed!"
And your as well. Nothing of value in it.

Schieffer just made a racist comment....more lame tactics I see.
- 3 votes
Of course...
Especially if you use the ever-popular kindergarten logic: "He who smelt it, dealt it.", right?
Would you like some dipping sauces with your billy goat, gentlemen?
- 6 votes
Yeah the sour gas 'ol Bob is spewing is just more proof of the race baiting the LWN/DNC is capable of and consistently uses!
Pass the Jack Daniels BBQ sauce please!

I'll give you boys a hint...
It doesn't take much "bait"

race baiting
Race Bait? That's the favorite food of the GOP!

That's the favorite food of the GOP!
No its cat nip for Left. They are the ones screaming racism at every single thing. Not the right.
- 1 vote
Why would a racist "scream racism"?
Your comments make less and less sense the more you go on...
Thank you Bob Schieffer for having the balls to say what your counterparts are afraid to say, because they fear the racist and Hate Merchant Donald J Trump. Now call out the Republican/ Tea Baggers who lie on your Sunday Chat Show.

blackheywood, thanks for hour comment, we certainly have a different opinion of Bob than some of the posts above. Who have probably never watched Face the Nation.
- 7 votes
You're welcomed and you're correct. Nor do many of them care to remember this country's not so distant racist past.
- 5 votes
Wow.
Being called a racist by a 100 year-old white man.
Just wow.
That's some irrefutable evidence... (AND NONE OF THIS WAS SARCASM)
- 5 votes
Any decision that is based on race may indeed be racist, including pulling punches. Schieffer must feel guilty of the "media protection" the Donald called out. Trump is correct on that, the press looks like a room full of bobble heads nudged in the back when the O speaks/reads.

Last time I called someone a ra cist I got suspended, so I will let the learned, and respected, Shieffer carry the load.
- 3 votes
It's OK Micheal, you just can't call another Viner a racist. (But you can tell them that their statements seem racist). Anybody else is fair game.
You can call Donald Trump out for being the Piece of @!$%# Racist that he is (see what I did there?)
I wonder what Li'l John, LaToya, Star, and that "Real Housewives" chick have to say about "the Donald" now? Maybe they should get them on someone's talk show and find out? (It's probably a breach of contract for them to ever say anything bad about him after they've been on the show...)
- 3 votes
I would rather be safe than suspended (I guess next I get expelled).
Besides, where else can I read some of the most imbecilic discussions from both sides of the aisle, waiting for an intelligent discussion to slowly trickle through the tubes?

As observed by John Milton, 1642 "They who have put out the peoples eyes reproach them of their blindness".
This battle will never end; until black people collectively, Remember Who We Truly Are. And ignore those who're annoyed at the fact that no amount of evil can remove us from the world. No amount of oppression and exploitation have succeeded in significantly affecting black people's reproductive ability.
Because of the failed efforts of racists to prove inherent inferiority of blacks; plus the inability of blacks to die-out. They (racists) are therefore forced to live with the cancerous guilt of what really built this country. A cancer which is obstructing their inner happiness, but which they're not willing to do the conscientious work to remove. Honest, sane and enlightened white persons know that they're no more responsible for their ancestors' evil actions, anymore than any black person today should feel ashamed that a few of our ancestors colluded with their ancestors to carry out the great evil that that period of slavery was. Those sane white persons, like sane black persons have accepted in our minds that our ancestors were wrong. We accept that maybe they did wrong, because they didn't know better. Thus our minds are not burdened with default guilt or shame which propel us daily to try to transfer our inner turmoil and misery, on any we can.
Now it seems like; just to live with so much guilt requires covertly forcing victim into situations that will cause them to keep reacting in dysfunctional ways. Those who've inherited the benefits of slavery (who do not want to admit it) have also subconsciously inherited attendant guilt. The pressures of which they subconsciously and subliminally try to reduce with constant efforts to further victimize the original victims. So they can have some fault to highlight, as why they're right and their victims are deserving of wrongs.
Consequently, like predators in the wild whose existence depends on their preys; yet are (predators) praised and respected as the ones who're strong and independent. So too; black victims in this scenario (who're often made to feel guilty) must pause and realize that its not black weakness and lack of intelligence that really bothers racist whites. But rather, its their realization that the false superiority they claim; is completely dependent on keeping others stressed out and afraid of their demonstrated evil, 24/365. They must constantly devise ways to keep others (whom they secretly envy) in a defensive mode. Thus distracted and detracted from Remembering Who We Truly Are. And in that state of constant defense, will demonstrate unflattering ways, to feed those racists' sick minds.
So black people! let us stop reacting and let: Donald Trump, Palin, Limbaugh, Beck and all those Birthners go to Hell. Its their self-created Cancer that bothers them 24/365. Their problems are inside. Only they can eradicate it. While reacting can attract some of the venom that they spew.

carefor: I agree with everything you said except your final conclusion. I don't think that racists and bigots should be allowed to mix their toxic brew with impunity. Nor do I think that they can or will cure themselves. And I certainly don't think that black people should not react to the bigots for fear that they might "attract some of the venom that they spew." Martin Luther King said that it is always the right time to fight for the right. And nothing is more true.
I am a white atheist of Jewish heritage, so I know a thing or two about facing up to bigotry. I hope you won't see this as a white guy lecturing a black guy about white bigots. I'm just talking to you man to man and with respect. I hope I can convince you to always shine your light on the purveyors of racism. If we don't do it the people who will be most infected by their filth are their own children who will grow up to perpetuate their hate. If we call them out every time we can then time may bring a lessening of the human impulse to hate those who are different and who seem vulnerable. At least the public opprobrium may keep the racists within themselves, since they can understand when their hate speech and conduct will not be tolerated.
What you said about racists is true. But keep saying it. Bigotry is part of the human psyche, but the human intellect can keep it in check. Those "sane" people you referenced are the ones who trim their emotions and balance them with intellectual reality to guide their lives.

I don't feel it like a white guy lecturing a black guy. However Ripuree is a black woman. And I agree that all of us sane people must fight these quacks together.

Oops! I forgot my own psuedonym, on this site. I meant to say careforcaregivers is a black woman. Ripuree is the name I use on most other sites.

I guess throwing out the racists card never gets old for some people.

That is all they have so they use it over and over - Why discuss Obama's failed economic policies when you can jkust throw out the race card right?

Or if you can just bring up, let's say... a question about a birth certificate, or religious affiliation, or some school records...
Hmmm...
I'm thinking of a word.
Sounds like "schmipocrisy"

Hey Boston,
It's the DNC gearing up for the 2012 election.
Forget about the deficit, Libya, no comprehensive energy policy, failed stimulis fiasco, bad housing market, where are the jobs, Syria, ..........
Play the race card and his LWN buddies in the lame stream media will come to his adoring attention yet again.
It's not going to work this time!

wow, smellit
I think that is the most words I have ever seen you string together in a single post.
I'm impressed. But it's not as if nobody has seen your posts on here before, so I'll also have to refer you to the last two lines of #25.2
It's not going to work this time!
wanna bet?

Yeah I'll bet on it!
This reminds me of the turmoil the country was in when Carter was president.
Reagan kicked Carters a$$.
Someone will do the same to Barry!

I would love to discuss how the guy I put so much effort and money into getting elected, only to have him be true to form, a frigging left of center Republican.
Yeah, let's discuss this part of Obama.
Please let's discuss this part of Obama.
But we will only be able to discuss this part of Obama when the issue becomes performance and not place of birth or of educational attainment.
Please, let's have this dialogue. I promise I won't even bring up previous adminstrations.
Please, let's have the dialogue. Let's quiet the noise coming from your corner about his place of birth and educational attainment.
Please, let's have the dialogue.

Who the @!$%# is Barry, oh yeah the nickname racist people call Obama.

Who the @!$%# is Barry, oh yeah the nickname racist people call Obama.
Actually, Obama used the name Barry when in high school in Hi.
- 1 vote
Perhaps.
But he doesn't anymore. (I can only assume he did so when he was young and insecure about his "strange name" and did so to fit in with the other kids. Now that he has matured and taken ownership of his name, he no longer goes by his childhood nickname)
And the majority of those that do now, do so as a "dig" at Obama. The same way as if I were to sarcastically call you "Mikey" in an effort to make you seem less significant.
- 3 votes
Same way the LWN's dig at Palin, Beck, Bush, Cheney,..........
Right guys?
Yeah you know it's the truth!
Your post is a fail!
- 3 votes
How so, smelli
I never said the left doesn't take pokes at those guys, did I? I simply explained that nobody calls him "Barry" anymore except for those that are casting aspersions. It's generally accepted as very rude to refer to someone in such a familiar way when you are not actually familiar enough to do so.
(I actually don't consider the "Barry" namecalling racist, the only "name" I've heard him called that I find racially offensive is when he is referred to as "Obammy". "Barry", "Odumbo", "Obummer" I really don't find racist, just sophomoric and childish)
It's most definitely a jab at Limbaugh when I call him Rushie... as intended. I'm not above taking a poke at someone I don't like.
It's EXTREMELY obvious that you aren't either, since that's basically ALL YOU DO here on the Vine...
FYI, MOST of your posts are "FAILS"
Keep up the .... work.
- 3 votes
Don't you people, so you're not above taking a poke at people you don't like but it's off limits for others unless you somehow agree. In the campaign you couldn't mention Obama's middle name Hussein, but after the inauguration it was just fine. Why was that?
- 1 vote
What planet were you on during the 2008 campaign, rightwing nutjobs loved saying his entire name repeatedly Barack Hussein Obama, Barack Hussein Obama. Does that bring back memories.

This is so counterproductive for the country , dived and concur :(
I hope that somehow the IRS crawls up Trumps but so far he won’t be able to sit for a month:)
