Rick Perry and this group, seem to want to turn our Country into a theocracy. I know I don't want to live under their religious law, that I doubt even they would obey. These are dangerous times, as the Religious Far Right fight to get a foot hold into our secular government, which would be against the Founding Fathers blueprint for our Country.

I think some people get lazy and think this would never happen, but there are forces that are working with great effort to see Perry in the White House. If Perry won the White House, he might dismiss this group and others like it, the way President Bush and other Republicans have in the past, but then again he may not. You may not lie President Obama or think he has been ineffective, but the alternative could be far worse, so think about your vote in 2012.

FTA:
Look at some of the points McDurmon felt compelled to make in defense of “traditional” dominionism:
- “The First and most concerning point is that the 7MD version does what critics of traditional dominion theology have falsely accused us of doing the whole time: planning to grab the reins of influence through whatever means necessary, usurp the seats of political power, and impose some tyrannical “theocracy” upon society from the top down with a “whether you like it or not, it’s for your own good” mentality.”
- “There is no doubt, however, that the 7MDs do have a goal of top-down control of society. This is explicit in their literature in many places. The exception to this is when they are in PR mode: then they downplay and even completely deny that they believe in dominion.”
- “This is exactly the threat—top-down threat, totalitarian threat, eschatological holocaust threat—that 7MD presents to us.
- American Vision is not that; they are not us; we are not them.”
- “Perhaps more should be written on these guys and the threats they pose to society. They may have a few better political ideas, but they are just as dangerous in degree as the most radical of the left.”
McDurmon goes on to mention such supporters of Seven Mountains Theology as Peter Wagner, Lance Wallnau, Rick Joyner, Johnny Enlow and others saying that they “desire to grab the seats of power and install a temporary totalitarianism for your own good which they think will usher in the messiah.”
This is all warned about in The Holy Bible. True Christians in Christ do not seek for religious control, because they see what Jesus Christ said to the Pharisees and Scribes of Hisdays on earth. We know that He is in control. God is on His Throne, all things are in His Hand's.
To me I see this as one of the warnings also given in the Book of Revelations.
Revelation 3:14-22
14 "And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write,
These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God:
15 "I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. 16 So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. 17 Because you say, I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing-and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked- 18 I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. 19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent. 20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.
22 "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches." "
In other words, they have taken Christianity as a means of controlling people for their own gain, to make them seem righteous, when in reality they are unpalatable to Christ

End all religions, problems solved. They accomplish nothing for the people as we see the homeless and hungry rates increase in larger numbers as church and religions rake in the billions per year.
Tax them, or shut them all down.

We are not to control others as Christians, we are to control ourselves and allow others to see the fruit of Jesus Christ in our lives.
We serve Him, therefore we are servants not rulers. He rules us. By these people trying to bring about their ideas they are serving satan, trying to force their timing upon God as if they know everything.
They sicken me, as they are not representatives of Christ. They are the deceivers sent to water down the message, and spin it for their political and religious control. I will never accept them or their doctrine of lies !!! They must turn from their ways or face the consequences of trying to make God do their will, instead of doing His will.

Thanks for your comment, and I agree with all of you, this organization is power hungry and does not fall in line with the teaching of Jesus.

Here is my 2 cents.
The Constitution states Freedom of Religion. IMO this statement also implies Freedom FROM Religion. We see how well Theocracies have managed by looking at the Governments in the Middle East. Is that what we really want for ourselves?
Religion is a crutch for the faithless. If you want faith, have faith in each other. You want to believe? Believe in yourself. You want religion, talk to the guy around the corner scaring the crap out of the masses and taking their money.
It's high time our species matures and leave the fairy tales from our youth behind.

All very true, but the "live and let live" crowd seems to be at a political disadvantage these days. Wake up and smell the coffee...

Steve & Gnostix, I'm a Christian, and I understand your feelings. The message from the far Right Evangelicals are often counter to what Christ taught. Jesus said one of the most important Commandments is; "Love thy neighbor, as thy self," which most of us fall short of everyday. But these far Right organizations teach hate and anger, so they don't represent Jesus at all.

Dominionism is a facade for The Koch to hide behind as he runs for the office of "God." Perry is his St. Peter.
It is horrific, so much evil, so many crimes against humanity are committed in the name of "God".
I am a humanist, a pantheist a universalist, and a spiritualist and NOT a religious zealot that completely excludes Christ from Christianity.
But regardless of all else, Obama did it.

These people are down right scary, and they are two sides of the same coin. American Vision promotes themselves as "Christian Reconstructionists", but definetly believe in this "Dominionsim" theory, with "rights" given to them by the Bible. The "7 Mountians" gang are just a bit more extreme, but both have the same goal, theocracy ruling the United States. I think both groups should be on a terrorist watch list, as "true believers" can be the most dangerous form of tyranny we may ever see. Perry is one of them, and should be stopped from gaining the nomination. We don't need another President, who has "visions" from their God, to get us into numerous new wars, in their lust for the "Rapture". Bunch of loons.

Michelle, that's why we need to keep the light on them and Rick Perry's continued involvement with the organization.

Well said!
For all of the bluster about Sharia we are hearing, these people are trying to institute their own brand of Sharia, which I call Chrislam. It's nothing but a Christian form what Islamic extremists try to implement and neither Sharia nor Dominionism are acceptable to me, or to a FREE nation.

bonos, Like Islam, there are people and organizations that distort and lie about the word of Christ. See my post @ 2.2 for a better answer about these organizations, who are trying to hijack Christianity.

#6.
If the dominionists have their way you will be serving satan and and be deceived that you are serving God.
For they are trying to make their ideas seem like like it is the will of God. When by simply reading the Bible you can see over and over again that God warns against these types of people. People who claim to be doin His will, when they follow their way instead of His.
Christians serve no man, party, or false god. We serve God. In serving God we render unto Caesar what is Caesars', and we render to God what is His.
Caesar was the ruler of the Roman Empire, a political structure that controls people for the benefit of the Empire. So as Christians we pay our taxes, obey the laws that do not make us go against the Law of God- First Law of God, to Love Him more than anyone or anything else, Second Law of God to love our neighbors as we love ourselves- We don not try to set upselves up as the religious leader of the world and try to be the king as well. As is taught in the Bible there is only One who will fit that role and He is the King of kings, as well as the Head of the Church. Jesus Christ.
So when I see all the liars claiming to be bringing about His will. I just know that His return is near and that all those who use His Name in vain for their, gain are the liars spoken about in The Bible.
I'm not deceived, but I am grieved for those who are deceived, for they try to lead others from Him who would save them.

Way I see it, you [any of you, including Dominionists, snake handlers, or followers of Tammy Fay Baker] are totally free to practice your religion in any way you see fit. However, you are not free to practice on me or anybody else who sees the world in a different way.
There are all sorts of religious crackpots out there of every stripe. The more wild-eyed Roman or Orthodox Catholics are pretty scary too, as are certain strains of Judaism, Hindus, and - of course - Islam. They usually think the whole world is just on the cusp of seeing the Infinite Wisdom of their beliefs and they are universally confused on that point.
Definitely, we need to be thinking about who we are voting for and why - or why not - but I do have a reasonable amount of faith that the wing nuts are not going to be voted in. Perry, in particular.

In the end, the enemy of my enemy is my friend, and though I’m not enamored of Christian Reconstructionism either I’m not unhappy to see them awake up as they seem the lesser of two evils – since unlike the NAR’s Peter Wagner, they’re not advocating taking over by “any means necessary.” Look, folks, the NAR is capital S-Scary. These are the people who put the “i” in inquisition. I cannot overstate the danger they pose.
Let’s be happy to have the “help” of Reconstructionists talking about and exposing the NAR to the light of day. Like we liberals, Reconstructionists don’t want to live in an NAR theocracy and for now that’s to America’s advantage. Let’s run with it while continuing to espouse the ideals of our Founding Fathers and the very secular U.S. Constitution.
Frankly I look at the GOP as gone. Its the Republican party of god in the hands of the corrupted, primitive ignorant and dangerous religious right.
I also give over the tea party to them, the politicized religious right, as just more purified cloaking of the same sickness that is eating the GOP alive like a roiling storm of angry maggots.
So for my money, if you stand against them , their lies, their ignorance, the smell of religious rot and insanity.
You are my friend.

If you want to see how deeply entrenched the christian movement is and has been in american politics and how dangerous they truly are, read this in depth piece from the Insider Magazine; Expose' The Christian Mafia "Where Those who now run the US Government Came from and Where They are Taking Us" written by Wayne Madsen.

geezing, thanks for the comment and yes, we need to keep shining the light on these organizations that are trying to take over our Country in the name of God.
